Your Fear is Death

What you fear is death. This may be most insidious of fears. Many of our fears in life are actually a fear of death in disguise. Fearing not having enough time, fear of failure, fear of not finding love - these are usually a fear of not having enough time to do the things you want to do before you die.

This is not something you like to think of, and for that we apologize. But one thing is for sure, we are all on this same boat as you, and most of us have this very logical fear.
Your Fear is Failure

You fear failure. This is a very common fear and, for some, worse than any physical danger, even a mortal one. This is of course connected to an inner sense of anxiety, usually stemming from childhood. This anxiety comes from some goals we've set for ourselves, sometimes some impossible standard.

On the other hand, maybe you are just afraid to lose what you've worked so hard to have. Don't let this anxiety shut you down, you've made it this far and you know that, while you may fail, you also know how to succeed.
Your Fear is Heights

You have a fear of heights. Forget climbing mountains and bungee jumping, you'd rather just lay out on the beach where it's nice, flat land!

And who can blame you, there's a reason our brain goes panicky when we get high up, and that's because we have no wings, and are pretty clumsy creatures, moving on only two legs! A fear of heights is mostly common sense.
Your Fear is the Dark

You fear the dark.

Darkness is one of the most primal and understandable fears of mankind. In the dark is when many predators hunted for us, and the dark is also a time to have accidents when you can't see. Darkness can be as physical a threat as any we face, and we fear for good reason.
Your Fear is Adding Commitments

What you fear is adding commitments to your life. You dislike being tied down in commitments.

Above all else, a fear of commitment is a fear of being enslaved, of being tied to responsibilities you may later strain against. Maybe you know yourself and you know such things chafe you. Maybe you've made all the big commitments you're ever going to make in this life, and you don't want to add to them. These are all logical fears, and you have every right to take or not take commitments upon yourself.

On the other hand, you may be afraid of BREAKING commitments, and so you do not begin them. In this way, you feel you are protecting those you don't commit to. That is an understandable fear. Not everyone is afraid to break commitments, unfortunately.
Your Fear is Rejection

What you fear is rejection. At the end of the day, most of us just want to be liked and accepted for who we are. You may have experienced some rejection in your life that has hurt you badly. Or perhaps it is some fear that has never come to pass, but you've always felt might happen.

When people reject us, it may destroy our sense of self, an image we spend a lifetime gathering - what people have said about us, what we have done, what we think of ourselves. Rejection can shake all of that, and it's an understandable fear, whether the rejection is one of friendship, a family member or a romantic interest.
