Watermelon Lemonade

Watermelons are great. This amazing summer fruit has a very high water content and provides nutrients like potassium, magnesium, and vitamins A and C. This watermelon lemonade is a refreshing way to start a summer day. It's easy to blend up and has a sweet-tart flavor. Have it chilled.

Watermelon Lemonade
Ingredients for Watermelon Lemonade:
Watermelon - 4 cups cubes (about 1/2 8-pound watermelon)
Lemon juice - 3/4 cup (3 to 4 large lemons should be enough)
Granulated sugar - 1/4 cup
Ice - 2 cups
Method of preparing the Watermelon Lemonade:
  1. Chop the watermelon and place it in a blender. Blend until it turns into a smooth liquid. Strain the liquid using a mesh sieve back into the blender.
  2. Add the lemon juice, sugar and ice to the liquid and blend again for about 30 seconds. Pour into a glass and garnish with watermelon and lemon slices or with fresh mint.
Chef's Tip:
Try pouring the blend into popsicle molds for a frozen snack.
